BCPA Annual General Meeting

AGM notice

Menzies Hotel   The 2012, 30th Annual General Meeting of the British Cardiac Patients Association will be held at the Menzies Hotel and Golf Club, Bar Hill, Cambridge, on Saturday 12th May 2012 at 3.30pm. Any BCPA member may attend the AGM even if not staying at the hotel.

Programme

Friday evening is always a good time to meet up with friends from previous years and to make new ones. Regular attendees at AGM weekends will assure you of our warm welcome and friendly company.

Saturday morning will provide an opportunity to visit Cambridge. Buses into Cambridge pass the hotel every 20 minutes.

Our Saturday afternoon speaker before the AGM will be Professor John Wallwork CBE, who is a most entertaining speaker, and who last summer retired after many years of being a surgeon at Papworth.

This will be followed by the Annual General Meeting and an Open Session providing members with an opportunity to ask questions about the Association and its activities.

Saturday evening will be the Gala Dinner – a further opportunity to relax and enjoy a time together. Hopefully our President Sir Terence English will be our guest on this occasion.

After dinner Rosemary Wheeler and two friends, Jenny and Dave, who gave the Cambridge Area Group an evening of musical entertainment with some very fine singing, will be entertaining us. All too soon the weekend will have passed with a Sunday journey home.

The hotel

The Menzies Hotel and Golf Club has had a multi-million pound refurbishment to make it a leading four-star hotel, with state of the art accommodation and full golf and leisure facilities. With its friendly staff and the award-winning food served in the most comfortable and stylish surroundings, we are assured of a pleasing weekend.

Janet and I have visited the hotel, and we are confident that it will provide an enjoyable location for the weekend. It is just off the A14.

Accommodation for the full weekend is: £135 single, £270 double or twin, including dinner Friday evening and the Gala Dinner on the Saturday. If you are coming for just one night it is £122 single, £152 double or twin, including the Gala Dinner. If you are coming for the Gala Dinner only, that is £25 per person.
